This term we are working towards our Map Reader badge and the Cubs are working on individual badges which include My Faith / World Faith and a variety of different Challenges!!!

We have been learning to read OS maps and compass’s, we have learned to read and understand contour lines and have made hills out of cardboard from a set of Contour lines that we plotted.

For Chinese New Year we had a Chinese themed evening where we tried Chinese food and made dragons as well as playing some Chinese games.

Just after the half term we had a lady from Wokingham District Council in to discuss the provision for children’s activities in and around the Parish of Shinfield, this was a fun evening where the Cubs had to think about what they would like to see in and around Shinfield, the Cubs plotted and painted a large map of the Parish and identified the Good and bad about the parish, despite the requests for theme parks, the results were, less building, more open spaces, a duck pond, more trees etc.
